Forging Family and The Cairn of Peace

Our second and last full day in Czechia had us exploring Steve (and Xavier's) ancestry. We picked up Steve's dad and headed to the village where Steve's dad grew up,  visited the family gravesite, and even saw the blacksmith foundary his great grandfather founded and is now a museum.

Then we made our way to Prace to see the Cairn of Peace, the monument erected to celebrate the peace brokered between the French, Austro-Hungary Empire,  and the Russian Empire after Napoleon soundly kicked all their butts. The museum was fascinating,  and the only part that was air conditioned was the entrance where we spent the most of our time trying to figure out the ticket fees.
The views from the hill were amazing.

We made it back to our hotel to grab dinner and get rest before our next big travel day.
