Arrived in Napoli!

Sleeping on a train is, in Xavier's words, violent. Despite having a private cabin with a private shower and toilet, we didn't get much rest. The air conditioning in the car was broken and it was HOT, and the service employee kept checking in on us even after we all tried to turn in in various states of undress in our triple bunks. To battle the heat,  we left the window cracked, which made the entire ride extremely noisy, but at least cooler.

I woke up to Xavier curled up on the floor drawing happily.
We got off in Venezia to transfer to a train to take us to Napoli, but unfortunately,  ended up at the wrong station and had to book it to a transfer to get to ANOTHER station before we missed our connection.

Then, we got our connection,  only to find that there was no dining car, the snack vending machine had very little to offer,  and the coffee vending machine was broken. That was a long ass 4.5 hour train ride. But,  we survived on travel snacks I had packed,  books,  and drawing.
We were greeted in Napoli with 97 degree weather and no thank you,  but Napoli, so we made due and headed to our AMAZING hotel. For real,  The Golden Tower is SWANK and I've loved every second here so far.
The view from our window into the courtyard below:
We cleaned up,  rested up, Steve got a massage at the spa, and then we all had dinner at the rooftop restaurant in the hotel.
