Napoleon did WHAT, or The First Full Day
We've now had a full day at our first destination, Újezd u Brna (founded in 1131) in Czechia, though we spent most of our day today with Steve's relatives in Telnice. Basically, we're in a network of villages/towns surrounding Brno. Specifically, we're staying within walking distance of the site of the Battle of Three Emperors, and the southern push of Napoleon's expanse. And goodnessis this place adorable and picturesque.
Visiting with relatives was a fun challenge. To be safe, we all COVID tested after breakfast, and Xavier had a light positive test, so we spent the day outdoors chatting with relatives while masked.
To secure his place as my favorite in-law, Steve's uncle gifted us 2 bottles of his prize winning wine, that he grows the grapes and makes himself. And it's amazing. I have aquiesced, reluctantly, to Steve's request that I share it with him since, well, it IS his uncle and such. FINE.
and you thought there wouldn't be wine!
